Armenian Tradition between the Secular and the Sacred - cultural and historical exhibition
The exhibition Armenian Tradition between the Secular and the Sacred, held as part of the Armenian-themed festival Armenia Up Close, brings together a selection of unique pieces of Armenian sacred art from the period between the 12th and 19th centuries and a variety of ethnographic artefacts.
Exhibited artifacts include embroidered curtains, covers and liturgical garments, metal objects, ritual vessels, unique hachkar stone crosses and other 12th and 13th century memorial objects, a 15th century gospel manuscript, typical Armenian gravestones, women’s national garments, and opulent jewellery from various ethnographic regions.
