Prehistoric pile dwellings around the Alps included on Unesco's World Heritage List
According to the World Heritage Committee's decision, the sites of a number of prehistoric pile-dwelling settlements in and around the Alps, including two sites at Ljubljana Marshes, have recently been listed as Unesco's World Heritage.

Plan your journey across Ljubljana using the web tool Google Transit
Since the beginning of June, visitors to Ljubljana have been able to plan their public transport journeys across the city using the web tool Google Transit. Apart from the usual directions for those travelling on foot or by car, Google Transit now provides timetable information on city bus services operated by the Ljubljanski potniški promet (LPP) company.

Tropical plants in Ljubljana
The Ljubljana Botanic Garden, which celebrated its bicentenary last year, has recently opened a new tropical glasshouse, which offers visitors a pleasant exotic retreat on cloudy, rainy or just dark days. The Ljubljana Botanic Garden's other glasshouse, located at Tivoli Park, will be particularly inviting from 20 to 25 April, when it will host an international orchid show. Exhibited orchids will include Ljubljana orchid, a hybrid named after the Slovenian capital.
