On Saturday 10 July 2010, Ljubljana's old city centre saw the official opening of the Butchers' Bridge (Mesarski most). The new bridge connects Ljubljana's Central Market, designed by the famous Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik, with the Petkovškovo nabrežje embankment.

In December this year, the British low-fare airline EasyJet will launch flights connecting Ljubljana to Paris and Milan.

On 25 June 2010, a plane of the Spanish low-fare airline company Vueling will land at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport for the first time. The new service between Ljubljana and Barcelona will operate twice weekly throughout the summer.

According to the S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants list, published annually in Britain's Restaurant Magazine, Ljubljana's Restavracija JB is among the world's best 100 restaurants, ranking no. 89.

The website of the popular British guidebook Rough Guide lists Ljubljana among the top ten summer cities. Ljubljana is recommended as a destination for a cultural city break comparable to Prague, but without the crowds.

In celebration of the bicentenary of the Ljubljana Botanic Garden, Ljubljana Tourism has prepared a new guided tour, which includes a boat ride along the Ljubljanica river and a guided walk of the Ljubljana Botanic Garden. Also this summer, litter will be picked from the streets of Ljubljana by the city's signature "litter pickers". 

The Kinodvor public service enterprise in collaboration with the City of Ljubljana and Ljubljana Tourism has published a brochure intended to attract foreign film and advertising productions to Ljubljana and Slovenia.
