Ljubljana gets a new bridge - the Butchers' Bridge
On Saturday 10 July 2010, Ljubljana's old city centre saw the official opening of the Butchers' Bridge (Mesarski most). The new bridge connects Ljubljana's Central Market, designed by the famous Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik, with the Petkovškovo nabrežje embankment. It stands on the site where Jože Plečnik anticipated the building of a bridge almost one hundred years ago.

The website of the popular British guidebook Rough Guide lists Ljubljana among the top ten summer cities. Ljubljana is recommended as a destination for a cultural city break comparable to Prague, but without the crowds.

In December this year, the British low-fare airline EasyJet will launch flights connecting Ljubljana to Paris and Milan.

A new air service between Ljubljana and Barcelona available during summer
On 25 June 2010, a plane of the Spanish low-fare airline company Vueling will land at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport for the first time. The new service between Ljubljana and Barcelona will operate twice weekly throughout the summer.
